Fort Hood Silver Chapter Warrant Officer Association (FHSCWOA) Scholarship Program
The FHSCWOA will make scholarship award(s) based upon the availability of funds and the number and needs of applicants,
with the objective of making the Scholarship Fund self-perpetuating.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applications will be accepted from children (natural or adopted) and dependent stepchildren, under the age of 23, of
regular members of FHSCWOA. Parents must be an active member of the Association when the application is submitted.
- Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited American college/university or vocational technical institution
on a full time basis. The school must be a certificate or degree granting institution.
Application Packet
Your application packet must include the following documents to be accepted for consideration:
- FHSCWOA Local Form, Academic Scholarship Award Application
- Recommendation from your high school counselor, or current school faculty advisor, if already attending college.
- Recommendation from an instructor.
- High school transcript, college transcript if already attending college, each including your grade point average (GPA).
- National Test Scores if available i.e. SAT, ACT, etc.
- A 500 word essay written by the applicant describing their goals and any special circumstances that would impact the
applicant's chances of attending college.
Application Submission
- Applicants should be mailed to
US Army Warrant Officers Association, Fort Hood Silver Chapter
- Applications must be received by 31 May of the calendar year in which the award will be made. Selectees will be notified
by mail before 31 July.
- Scholarships will be awarded to selectees upon receipt of correspondence from the school registrar confirming registration
for that school year. The award check will be sent to the School Financial Aid Office, but will be made payable to the applicant.
The major goal of this program is to assist you in reaching your educational goals by providing financial assistance and,
hopefully, motivation. Your interest and comments concerning improvements to the operation of this program are solicited and
encouraged.
